If you have a true story of a ghostly or supernatural experience that you would like to submit to Hotlyps Ghost Stories you must follow a few simple rules. Please submit stories in text (.txt) format if possible. I suggest you write your story in Notepad or Wordpad and then copy and paste it into the body of your email. NOTICE All submissions must be pasted into the body of the email. Due to virus concerns, if I receive a story as an email attachment it will be deleted! The stories for this site are supposed to be true. I am looking for stories of ghostly or supernatural events experienced by yourself, your friends or your family. Only submit stories written by yourself. No copyrighted stories! If you are a writer of ghost stories (fiction) I would still be interested in receiving them. However, you must state that the story is fiction and that you are the author. If I consider it good enough, I will post it on my site. In the past I have received stories that were either very poorly written, incomplete or were just too short to post as an actual story. Please, take the time to write at least one or two paragraphs and include as many details as possible so that your story will be interesting to the readers. Tips For Submitting Stories: 1. Put "Ghost Story" or the story title in the subject area of the email. 2. If possible, tell what city and area the event occurred in. 3. Do not capitalize every word. 4. Make sentence lengths reasonable. 5. After the period, add a space to signify the beginning of the next sentence. 6. Put a blank line between paragraphs. (Hit "enter" twice) 7. Proper punctuation is appreciated. 8. Try to organize your thoughts first, then type them all out as you think them, then go back and edit, and then edit some more. 9. Check for spelling errors! 10. If you want credit for a story, add a byline. (example: Ghost Story by Hotlyps) If you want your name or email address published, youŽll have to say so. Otherwise, IŽll never add either! I reserve the right to post or not post any stories submitted. (Some stories are of such poor quality, it's really not worth it.) My decision on what to post is final! |
