Child in Chicago Hi, my name is Cheryl. I am 17 years old and have lived in Chicago Ridge IL my whole life. I am pretty sure that my house is haunted. Since I can remember, I have been seeing weird visions and having weird feelings in my house. It bothered me so much that I have asked my parents tons of times about the history of our house. According to them nobody ever died in the house. OK here are some of the reasons I feel my house is haunted. Since I was little I have always gotten up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Now, when I open up my bedroom door, the stairway is right in front of me. Nobody lives up there, it is vacant. I used to think to myself that maybe I was just letting my imagination run away with me, but I still see things to this day. I always see a mans legs on the stairs just standing there. I never see his face. He is always standing half way up the stairs. Almost as if he is trying to keep me from going up there. I also see (downstairs) a little girl that ranges in age from about 5-15 at times. ( Sometimes she is little, sometimes older) It is always the same girl. She watches me and my friends sometimes. I can see her in the corner of my eye all the time but as soon as I look, she ducks or hides and is gone. Once when I was little (about 5 or 6) I had a dream. I was in the white nightgown that I always see the girl in. I was in my kitchen but everything looked different. It looked old fashioned. I saw in my dream a ghost or a white spirit floating by one of the cabinets. I tried to scream in my dream but I couldn't. I woke up screaming. I never told any of my friends about this in fear of being embarrassed. But then one day my friend Cathy saw what she said was a little girl with brown hair and wearing a white nightgown. She got so scared she left my house. Then, about a month I had a group of friends over. My friend Steve went to the bathroom. On his way back, he must have seen something on the stairs because he asked me "Who is upstairs?" and I told him that nobody was up there and he insisted that he saw a man standing on the stairs and he only saw his legs.
